Tonight we’re honoring and celebrating Sistah Poets – talented creative women writers and performers. On tonight’s show we”ll hear from Raina J. León, phD, A Black and Afro-Boricuan Philadelphian, educator, writer coach who lived for many years in the Chochenyo Ohlone territory of Berkeley and our very own graduate of the KPFA Apprenticeship, Ananda Esteva, poet, writer, and teacher, Ananda Esteva. Finally, again we celebrate and honor another graduate writer and poet of the KPFA Apprenticeship, Zakiyyah G.E. Capehart-Bolling, author of Ghana On My Mind, a reflective collection of poetry and prose of her trip to Ghana.
